Embassy. Along with the two artists, a curator from
Graffiti.id, Budicole also helped to monitor the making
          of those two paintings.

It is interesting to know the mural paintings really
depict the uniqueness of each artist. For example,
Dhigel made mural with a line “We Want to Sell Goods”
in Thamrin area. He hoped the mural will catch people’s
attention and make them to pay a visit on the kiosks.
“When they do selfies on the mural, it means they will
help promoting the MSMEs,” said Dhigel.

He also hoped the Jakarta government could offer
the chance for collaboration more often, as to create
great branding for public places to become more
interesting. Thus, many people would be willing to visit
and promote the area. “I hope it will be a beneficial
symbiosis between the city government, the artist and
          the communities,” Dhigel said.

Meanwhile, Raya Elfira presented an artwork called
“Pay it Forward”, which was inspired by the film of the
same name, launched in early 2000s. She dedicated
the work to people with disabilities. “Pay It Forward is
the first work that I dedicate to people of Jakarta and
those with disabilities,” she said excitedly.

At the same time, Ongkogx created a mural named
“Bought with Good” in a full colour tone to make the
kiosk interesting and Blesmokie presented a work
          called “Fill for Fun”.

          Spaces for Artists

Acting Head of Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy
agency, Gumilar Ekalaya, said collaboration with mural
artists is a part of the program to beautify the city. It
was a program between the city and the community
“We just provided Jakpreneur kiosks as the canvas for
our mural artist friends,” said Gumilar.

He also hopes the mural arts will not only brighten
every corner of the city, but also brighten the days of
the citizens of Jakarta. “They can do selfies, as well as
          promoting their places,” explained Gumilar.

Gumilar hopes that more of similar collaborations can
be done in the future. The artists can use it to exhibit
their works in strategic public spaces. “I hope we can
do similar collaborations continuously,” he said.
