                                                                    OVID-19 pandemic still got a long way to
                                                                    end. Jakarta is still recorded as province
                                                             Cwiith the highest transmission rate in
                                                             Indonesia. The transmission rate was increasing
                                                             significantly after christmas and new year
                                                             holidays.

                                                             Long holidays often trigger spike in COVID-19
                                                             cases. The peak of the spikes usually seen in the
                                                             next  two  weeks  after  holidays  season.  On  last
                                                             September, Jakarta government had imposed
                                                             emergency  brake policy  following  the  spike
                                                             in COVID-19 cases after two period of long
                                                             holidays: independence day holiday on August
                                                             15-17 and Islamic new year holiday on August
                                                             20-23, 2020.

                                                             If we see the data collected by Jakarta Health
                                                             Agency, transmission rate in the city began
                                                             to flatten during mid September 2020, and
                                                             even  lower in  mid  October.  However,  it  began
                                                             to rise again two weeks after Maulid (Prophet
                                                             Muhammad’s birthday) holiday on October
                                                             28th until November 1st. In January 2021, there
                                                             was surge in COVID-19 cases, causing increase
                                                             in positivity rate for 10-15 percent.

                                                             During January 2021, JaKita recorded there
                                                             was approximately six times of spikes in
                                                             COVID-19 cases that surpassed the record
                                                             of daily confirmed-cases  in Jakarta. One
                                           The residents’    of them occured on January 6th, two weeks
                                           high mobilities   after christmas holiday. There was 2,402 cases
                                           triggers spikes
                                           in COVID-19       recorded that day. The trend kept on increasing
                                           cases.            afterwards, breaking the record of over 3,000
                                                             confirmed-cases per day.
