Exploring

East Flood Canal Area

The jogging track at East Flood Canal area becomes
everyone’s favourite place for exercising. The 7.6
kilometres sloping road is also a great place to explore.

It becomes challenging to get refreshed during this
testing times of COVID-19 pandemic. We have to
be clever in finding types of activity that is still safe
and enjoyable, without having to neglect health
precautions. One of few places meeting the criteria
is the jogging track at East Flood Canal (Banjir Kanal
Timur—BKT) area, located in Pondok Kopi subdistrict,
Duren Sawit, East Jakarta.

This area, which was built in 2002, becomes a
favourite destination for those living in Jakarta and
its surrounding. In fact, when the pandemic hit 1.5
years ago, the area became everyone’s go-to place,
since there are many things we can do in that area.
One of them is to ride a bicycle on that 7.6 kilometres The East Flood Canal
area, Pondok Kopi,
of straight and sloping road. Duren Sawit district,
East Jakarta is every-
one’s favourite place
to exercise.
The road, situated in the north side of BKT, has two
paths each on its sides. It spans besides the flood
canal, from Pondok Kopi to Pondok Bambu subdistrict.
