The news made Sugiman feel down. The condition
of this man, who lives in Halim Perdanakusuma, East
Jakarta, was getting worse day by day. It became
worse when he found out that his wife, Saminah (58)
followed him to be hospitalized as she had the same
symptoms.
At that time, it was very difficult to find a hospital.
Number of hospitals refused him because the beds
had been fully occupied. He was relieved and thankful
they found an isolation room at Budhi Asih Hospital.
“Alhamdulillah, we are still lucky,” he said gratefully.
But God had other plans for him. His wife, Saminah,
who had accompanied him for 30 years, took her
last breath after being treated for three days at
the hospital. Her heart disease caused Saminah’s
condition to get worse. “I’ve let her go, it’s the best for
her,” said Sugiman.
Today, Sugiman has recovered. He has also started
working again as a bus driver in a private company.
However, his lungs are sometimes hurt. “ I have to take
care of myself now,” he said. Previously, Sugiman had
received COVID-19 vaccine in Makassar, East Jakarta.
He got the second dose of vaccine on May 5 , 2021.
