                               UMKM in Jakarta





                                     Each year, more people in Jakarta  are
                                     getting interested in entrepreneurship.  It
                                     is doable to achieve the target of 200,000
                                     entrepreneurships.







                                           n a Saturday evening in the end of February,
                                           the Food and Creative Park area in Tham-
                                     Orin 10 was getting hyped. Series of events
                                     were held, from the UMKM (Micro, Small and Me-
     6                               dium Enterprises) bazaar to talkshows with vari-
                                     ous themes and leading interviewees. Also, there
                                     were workshops about urban farming, waste re-
                                     cycle and trainings to make bath soaps. It was all
                                     conducted in part of the Naturale Market event
                                     which lasted for two days.
                                        The festive Thamrin 10 was due to the pres-
                                     ence of all the visitors and the UMKM practitioners
                                     coming from all Jakarta. That day was a celebra-
                                     tion they longed to see, as the Jakpreneur was be-
                                     ing offiicially launched by the Provincial Govern-
                                     ment of DKI Jakarta (Pemprov DKI).
                                        “Thamrin 10 is the take off point for those who
                                     owned the willingness, the spirit to move further,
                                     to sell their products in the mainstream Jakarta’s
                                     markets,” said the Governor Anies Rasyid Baswe-
                                     dan in his opening speech at Naturale Market.
