residents of Kampung Kunir, Tamansari,
H West Jakarta. The long wait to have a
decent place to live will eventually end soon. If
nothing goes wrong, in August 2022, as many
as 33 families will occupy their new houses in
Kampung Susun (vertical village) Kunir.
The announcement to construct Kampung Kunir
by the governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan was
held on October 14 2021. The inauguration was
marked by the ground-breaking ceremony.
The construction was carried out by PT Karya
Bangun, using conversion funds for the
obligation to finance the construction of simple
flats holders of spatial use permits.
Kampung Susun Kunir will be built on 860 sqm
land. It will be a four-storeys building with 33
units and supporting facilities and infrastructure,
such as business spaces, communal areas,
history galleries and archaeological sites for
marking the history of Kota Tua walls.
On the inauguration of Kampung Kunir Susun,
Anies emphasized that the government always
protects the interests and needs of their
residents. Also, when there is work that must be
completed by the government, the residents
will feel the justice from that work. “What we are
doing currently is to ensure that there will be
justice, protection, and to fulfil the right of the
residents to have decent housing,” he said.
Liveable Houses According to him, the development of Kampung
Kunir is not only to meet the needs of decent
at Kampung Susun housing, but also to create a better ecosystem
for its residents. Therefore, the development
of kampung susun involves various parties so
that the concept design is in accordance with
the needs of the residents who will occupy it.
“The concept is not just a house for each family,
